When Pearl River resident Lise C. tragically lost her husband during Hurricane Sandy, she appealed to NEOPS for help. Cut off by her husbands insurance, she asked NEOPS to forgive non-reimbursed medical costs for herself and her daughter, both seriously injured. NEOPS provided the assistance and wishes the best for Lise and Danielle.

On October 29, 2012, Hurricane Sandy caused a tree to fall on my home, killing my husband Jeffery C. instantly and seriously injuring myself, and out daughter, Danielle. My husband was a retired NYC police officer and was the primary insurance holder for my family. We were transported via ambulance to Nyack Hospital where we were admitted to the surgical ICU. All insurance claims were billed. On December 19, 2012, I received a letter dated December 5, 2012 informing me that his insurance was terminated on October 30, 2012. On October 31, 2012, my insurance became the primary and only insurance for my family. I am providing you with a copy of the insurance card. Please re-submit all medical claims, which occurred after October 30, 2012.
I hope you can consider the payment received from The Empire Plan as payment in full because of my financial burden at this time.
